Northwest Missouri State University President Dr. John Jasinski has been elected chair of the Council on Public High Education in Missouri.

He was elected by his peers to serve a one-year term on the board. The Council of Public Higher Education is a non-profit association compromised of the presidents and chancellors of Missouri's 13 public four-year universities. Their mission is to support and advance state universities' missions for success while increasing understanding and appreciation of public higher education by state leaders.

In addition to his elected position, Jasinski has also been reappointed as a member of the Board of Overseers of the Malcolm Balridge National Quality Award. He is joined by 11 other distinguished representatives of the U.S. economy and organizations eligible for the award. The Balridge Award is the nation's highest honor for organizational innovation and performance excellence. Jaskinski has been serving on the board since 2016.
